Valerie Langlois, a graduate student in Cognitive Psychology, is the recipient of a 2021 National Science Foundation (NSF) Doctoral Dissertation Research Improvement Grant in Linguistics.

The NSF Linguistics Program supports basic science in the domain of human language, encompassing investigations of the grammatical properties of individual human languages, and of natural language in general. Doctoral Dissertation Research Improvement grants provide support to enhance and improve the dissertation projects conducted by doctoral students whose research will contribute to the advancement of the basic science of language and linguistics.

Valerie received a Doctoral Dissertation Research Improvement grant for her dissertation project, “Investigating the role of distribution in syntactic comprehension.” Congratulations, Valerie!
